The North Texas Association of Healthcare Quality (NTAHQ) is a professional membership organization dedicated to supporting healthcare quality professionals across Texas and beyond.

About the North Texas Association of Healthcare Quality?

NTAHQ was established in November 2005 to meet the growing needs of professionals involved in healthcare quality. Since our founding, we have served as a trusted community for individuals responsible for improving patient care, strengthening safety, and supporting regulatory compliance within healthcare organizations. NTAHQ is a community of healthcare professionals committed to advancing quality, safety, and performance improvement across the healthcare continuum.

Tanya Stinson has worked in various Quality and PI settings inside and outside healthcare, however, regardless of where she works, she is very passionate about helping people. Tanya has a Master's Degree in Healthcare Quality and Safety and is a Certified Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt. She has 15 years of experience in leading large Lean Six Sigma transformational initiatives, training, coaching, and certifying others (clinical and non-clinical) in leading performance, process, and quality improvement projects. She is highly passionate about making positive changes that will improve outcomes for the consumer, employees, and leadership, as well as empowering project leaders through coaching and mentoring that will help others to become successful and growing the PI culture, eliminating issues, and improving healthcare quality for all.


She is active member of several volunteer organizations. As President of the North Texas Association for Healthcare Quality, she is very passionate about improving healthcare processes, quality, and safety for the communities that we serve. Tanya is also a very active member of the American College of Healthcare Executives of North Texas (ACHENTX) and is the 2024 Chair of the Women's Health Executive Network (WHEN) for ACHENTX. She is also an member of the National American Latino Healthcare Executives group (NALHE). Tanya was awarded the 2023 ACHENTX Regent of the Year for “Chapter Connector” and the 2020 ACHENTX Mentor of the Year award.

Tanya owns a small business, Leaning Towards Change, which she started in 2020. She trains, coaches, and mentors students and leaders in getting their Lean Six Sigma White Belt, Yellow Belt, and Green Belt certifications. She also leads large organizations in completing successful initiatives that help reduce defects, wastes, inefficiencies, and costs, saving millions of dollars and improving quality, efficiency, safety, and productivity.


Tanya’s certifications include Certified Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt, ROI Methodology Certified, Certified Master Business Analysis, Certified Lean Champion, Certified Prosci Change Management Practitioner, Certified IHI Healthcare and Safety, and Certified 8D/PPS Leader. In the past, as part of her tenure as PI Engineer for Texas Health Resources, Tanya has helped several Texas Health Resource hospital employees in winning quality and operational excellence awards as well as has helped several hospitals to become Magnet designated. She has helped several healthcare organizations complete improvement initiatives successfully and pass surveys to remain/become Joint Commission compliant/accredited.


Tanya loves sharing her passion, knowledge, and experience with others. Her goals are to improve patient experience and care, while improving processes, quality, and safety for everyone.

Finance Chair
Supports financial planning, budgeting, and long-term financial sustainability in collaboration with the Treasurer and Board.

Are programs available online?

Most of our programs are online. We have in person events a few times a year, those are posted on our website or LinkedIn page.

Do I need to be a hospital employee to join?

No, we have several membership options for anyone interested to include healthcare workers, healthcare students, vendors, and retired healthcare staff. See our membership page for details.

Are sessions eligible for continuing education credit?

Most education sessions include continuing education credit. NTAHQ will advise if a session does not include CEUs.

How do memberships and payments work?

Memberships roll on a annual basis from your join date. When you register you can sign up for auto renewal if you like.
